My History

I purchased
my first
collie from
Glad
Osborne's "GLENDALLO"
kennel in
1967 and
having been
a
competitive
dancer my
entire life,
decided that
this was my
next sport.
I had only
purchased my
"Glen"
originally
as a pet but
like many of
us was told
by everyone
who saw him
"gee you
should show
that dog"
and that was
it. Show I
did. I was
mortified
when Aunty
Glad asked
me to please
leave him at
home, WHY!!!
I thought he
was so
beautiful,
so in the
ensuing
years I did
obedience
and guess
what my
lovely Glen
wasn't even
good at
that. He was
so spoilt
that his
attitude was
"I'm a good
boy all the
time, I
don't have
to do this
rubbish". I
waited 2
1/2yrs for a
good bitch
from Glad
and then I
could see
the
difference -
Best In Show
at 10months.
But my Glen
was a great
learning
tool and I
loved him
dearly.
My beautiful
Catriona
(litter
sister to
Gamble
Again)
produced me
nothing so I
set about,
with Glad's
help, to
find a good
breeding
proposition
and from my
first litter
out of
Tyrondale
Scotch lass
to Glendallo
Gamble Again
came the
famous Ch'
Cathkin Soft
Caress,
record
holder as
top
producing
bitch until
many years
later my Ch.
Glynae Star
Dancer
surpassed
her tally of
Champions.
From this
beginning of
Glendallo
and Myoene
crossing a
steady line
of ninety
one CATHKIN
champions
have bred as
well as a
few outside
dogs that I
have owned.
In 1994 I
travelled the
world
looking for
something
that would
complement
my own line
and the
great
fortune to
become
friendly
with Pauline
and Alan
Hayden in
the UK. That
relationship
over the
next few
years was to
be one of
the most
beneficial
moves I
could have
made with
the
importing of
Ch.
Sunnyhurst
Silk Touch
and his
sister
Sunnyhurst
Sentimental
Love. At
just 5 years
of age Silk
Touch has
thirteen
champion off
spring and
many more on
their way.
I have
judged
Collies in
Australia
and New
Zealand and
I really
enjoy
judging, but
my real love
is breeding,
forever
striving for
that all
round
perfection.
Through the
guidance and
Knowledge
and help of
Glad Osborne
instructed
me with I
have been
very
fortunate to
have bred
many BEST IN
SHOW ALL
BREEDS as
well
numerous
ROYAL
CHALLENGE
winners and
I know none
of this
would have
happened
without
Glad's help.
I hope that
at the end
of my days
in the
Collie world
I will have
made an
influence on
how the
breed
progresses
through the
next
generation
of breeders
to hopefully
know and
maintain a
high
standard in
our beloved
breed the
COLLIE ROUGH
or SMOOTH.
I hope you
enjoy your
visit to my
site, please
let me know
what you
think by
leaving a
message in
my guestbook.
